COMMON QUESTIONS

HOW LONG DO THE SESSIONS LAST?

Each session lasts one hour however the session length can be extended by booking multiple consecutive slots (should they be available).

DO YOU HAVE A SPECIFIC TEACHING QUALIFICATION?

I am a fully qualified 'Outstanding' QTS teacher with experience of teaching across all settings from Primary through to University.

HOW FREQUENT SHOULD THE SESSIONS BE?

This is entirely up to the student/parent/carer which can be mutually agreed based on the ultimate objective of the sessions and can be discussed and evaluated during the FREE trial session.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A TRIAL SESSION?

The purpose of the free no-obligation one hour trial session is to get to know each other and see how we can work together going forward. During this period the student (and parent/carer) will get an appreciation of how sessions will be delivered as well as use the opportunity to discuss the student's background, progress, aspirations and personality to help us understand their goals and challenges a lot better.

HOW ARE THE SESSIONS DELIVERED?

Sessions are delivered online via Zoom, the link for which will be provided once a session has been booked. Online tutoring and mentoring are proven to be more time and cost-effective than face-to-face. Sessions can be held anywhere around the world/in the comfort of the student's home within a safe learning environment. Timings can easily be adjusted and session recordings and resources can all be shared and reviewed at a later stage at the touch of a button.

WHAT IF I/MY CHILD DOES NOT LIKE THE TUTOR?

A positive relationship between Growth Mindset and student (parent) is key to the student's success as it can dramatically enhance the students' level of motivation and therefore promote learning. The free trial session serves this purpose. Should the student/parent not be comfortable with the tutor during this session they are under no obligation to proceed any further.

HOW DO YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR TEACHING SERVICES?

Payments are to be made via bank transfer in advance of the session to the Growth Mindset Education business account. Full details will be provided once the date of the session(s) has been mutually agreed.

AM I TIED INTO A CONTRACT?

With pay as you go (PAYG) plan there is no obligation provided the session is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled session. However, should the student/parent opt for the monthly or bimonthly plans, the student is expected to complete the sessions as no refunds are made as those plans are significantly discounted (please refer to our Cancellation and Refund Policy).

HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION/SESSIONS?

Simply contact us using the link below and confirm the date and time you would like to book the session(s) for. If the slot(s) is/are available, you will receive email confirmation requesting payment to be made followed by the booking confirmation on payment.

HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE TAUGHT IN A GROUP SESSION?

The numbers may vary according to the nature of the session however these are capped to an optimum to promote collaborative learning without compromising the quality of delivery and ensuring a personalised experience. Student numbers are capped to 6 for all group sessions with the exception of A level and BTEC sessions which do not exceed four.
